How To Be Saved

The Hopelessness of Man

The bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Sin is separation from God. “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2 KJV)”, Its penalty is death. The first part of Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death. Since all mankind had sinned, all of us came under the judgement of death.”Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12 KJV). By the sin of one man Adam, all mankind came under condemnation and death. The bible tells the state of the sinner – “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12 KJV). It’s a life of hopelessness and God-lessness. Again, the bible says, “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” (Isaiah 57:20, 21 KJV). It is a state of turmoil. A life of no peace. This is the state of the sinner. Finally, his destination is the lake of fire- “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”. (Revelation 20:15 KJV). This fate, this terrible condition, became the lot of mankind when Adam sinned against God.

The Love of God

God is love (1 John 4:8 KJV). Over and over we read of the love of God. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (Ephesians 2:4 KJV), made provision for mankind to be reconciled back to God and live an overflowing life of peace, victory and joy. He showed us how much He loved us by giving His Son, Jesus Christ to bear the punishment for man’s disobedience and subsequently die in our place. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NIV). “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”. (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV). “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”. (Isaiah 53:4-6 NIV). “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit”(1 Peter 3:18 NIV).”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him”(John 3:16, 17 NIV). Why did God do all these? Because He loves you.

How to be saved

A man once asked this all-important question, “what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:30, 31 KJV). Do you want to be saved? Then, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. That is all you need to do – believe – and you will be saved.”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9-13 KJV). All you need to do is to take Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Jesus as your Lord and you will be saved. Are you ready to do so? The bible says whosoever ( that includes you) shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Let’s call on the Name of the Lord right away. Say this out loud

Dear God in heaven, I’m calling on the Name of Jesus and I know I shall be saved. I believe in my heart that Jesus was raised from the dead and I confess Him as my Lord this day. Thank You for saving me. I am saved. My sins are blotted out by the Blood of Jesus. I receive eternal life in my spirit. I am now a child of God and God is now my Father. Thank You in Jesus Name, Amen
